What is Fang Shui?
Simply, Fang Shui is practicing originating from Chine that is all about arranging pieces in living spaces, to create harmony and balance. Balance is referring to distribution of visual objects in a space, while harmony represents different elements combined together to create a unifying look. There are many Fang Shui Bedroom Rules, but here we will focus on few main rules that are shaping the “chi” entering our space.
Chi, translated from Chinese means breathe. Basically, it is the energy in our space and how we place our furniture, what colors and object we choose or how we place them, all have big impact on the energy-chi.
Comand Position
It is the most important of all Fang Shui Bedroom Rules! This about bed placement in your room. For the right position, always, always place the bed so you can see the door while laying in bed. It is because you are in direct line with the doors, all the entering energy is direct towards you.
Solid wall behind the bed
It is very important to place your bed so the headboard is on the solid wall side. In other words, if there is any chance of you avoiding the window side, do it. Solid wall behind you while sleeping is representing a support that is stable. In case you can’t avoid the windows, make sure you put curtains over them.
Move the bed away from the bathroom wall. Keep the bathroom doors closed.
Objects in your bedroom
There is a lot of do’s and don’t when it comes to Fang Shui Bedroom Rules.
Dont’s:
Ideally, try to put no mirrors. I know, you probably ask yourself why when we all want to see ourselves in the mirror before leaving the house. Here is why: it is because mirrors are thought to bounce energy around the bedroom, which may result in restlessness and amplify worries.
No sharp objects pointing towards the bed or above bed. Sharp corners are bad sha, which means bad energy.
No plants, they are producing energy that is contradicting your sleep. Think like this, it is more of CO2 in your bedroom.
No fans or lights directly above you while laying in your bed.
No wild animal pictures.
No images of gods in the bedroom
No bookshelves in your bedroom, it looks like you have to study.
DO’S:
When it comes to art, to abstract art that has soft tones.
Lighter colors, earthy tones, forget about bright red color.
Domestic animals pictures are appropriate.
Natural Crystals are good luck, especially when illuminated by a lamp or daylight so that sunlight passes through, amplifying the energy.
Your Bed
Make sure you have a big enough bed, because a small bed symbolically stopped you from growing, improving.
As for the headboard, make sure you use either fabric or solid wood. Metal is not welcomed, it is cold and doesn’t work for good energy. in case you have a footboard, make sure it matches the height of the mattress.
Look for the elevated bed so the air can circulate freely, without being blocked.
I think besides the placement of the bed and/or other pieces of furniture, it is very important to keep it clutter free, tidy and free of dust! I know, we all get busy so sometimes just the fast refreshment of dusting the most used surfaces keeps it tidy and neat.
Are you going to change your bed position or is it in a perfect spot already?
More to come…
Namaste,
Jana
